Geology

Everything found at Kintbury Eco Centre is fundamentally driven by the underlying geology of the site. The habitats, flora and fauna are indicative of a diversity of bedrock geology, with chalk, clay, silt, sand and gravel all found here.

Bedrock Geology

Bedrock geology is a term used for the main mass of rocks forming the Earth that are present everywhere, whether exposed at the surface in outcrops or concealed beneath superficial deposits or water (from British Geological Survey).
